New Luxury Community at Lake Wylie!

Chapel Cove has opened a sales center! This luxury-home development is being built off Shopton Road West at Lake Wylie.

The 291-acre site will feature 250 houses, some of which will face the lake. The architecture styles include French Country, Georgian and adaptations of Craftsman styles.

Streetscapes will be reminiscent of Crescent's Ballantyne Country Club and Highgrove communities in south Charlotte and the Springfield development in Fort Mill.

Homesites will range from one-half acre to more than 2 acres. Lot prices begin in the low $100,000s. Home prices start in the mid-$700,000s. Most of the houses will cost up to $1 million, but a few waterfront lots will accommodate houses priced at up to $1.8 million.

The development is slated for completion in four years. It is across from The Sanctuary, a Crescent lakefront development featuring wooded homesites and 20 miles of hiking trails.

Chapel Cove will encourage green-building techniques and environmentally sensitive practices, such as 100-foot setbacks from the lake and limited impervious areas to decrease erosion and runoff.

The development will have a 5-acre park featuring an activities center, junior Olympic pool, children's splash pool, five tennis courts, a playground and a full-time activities director.

Chapel Cove will feature pocket parks throughout the community that will be connected by a system of sidewalks and walking trails. And Crescent will build a small pavilion and a canoe and kayak center by the lake.
